We are looking for an Assistant HR Business Partner on a fixed-term basis. This role will support the existing HR Business Partner across multiple locations in Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive HR professional who is keen to develop within a busy Employee Relations environment. Acting as the HR Business Partner’s right-hand support, you will take ownership of day-to-day Employee Relations matters, ensuring processes are followed correctly and consistently. The HR Business Partner will manage the more complex cases and formal hearings, while you will focus on investigations, absence management processes and providing first-line HR advice to managers.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the HR Business Partner across multiple sites
- Managing absence cases, including triggering and progressing formal absence management procedures
- Leading on absence investigations and ensuring accurate, compliant documentation
- Managing grievance investigations and preparing findings to support formal hearings
- Supporting disciplinary investigations, including evidence gathering and documentation preparation
- Preparing hearing packs and ensuring panel members receive accurate and timely documentation
- Providing day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers in line with policy and employment legislation
- Supporting recruitment processes, including participation in interview panels
- Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring consistency of approach across sites
- Acting as a proactive, dependable and professional support to the HR Business Partner
