About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Electronics Patent Attorney who is dual-qualified in the UK and Europe to join our established practice in the South East. This is a rare opportunity to step into a partner-track role as part of a structured succession plan to replace a retiring partner.
You’ll work closely with the existing partnership to ensure continuity for long-standing clients while helping shape the future direction of the firm. The role offers genuine flexibility, including access to remote working, while maintaining strong collaboration with the team and clients. You’ll be advising on cutting-edge technologies across telecoms, software and medical devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a high-quality patent portfolio covering telecoms, software and medical devices
- Take over responsibility for a significant client base as part of a planned handover
- Lead on drafting, prosecution, opposition and strategic IP advice
- Build trusted relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior attorneys and trainees
- Contribute to business development and firm strategy
- Work collaboratively with partners to support a smooth succession transition
About You
- Dual-qualified as a UK Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney
- Strong technical background in electronics, telecoms, software, medical devices or related fields
- Proven experience managing complex patent portfolios and client relationships
- Commercially minded with a genuine interest in leadership and long-term firm development
- Confident communicator with strong client-handling skills
- Ideally already operating at Senior Associate / Counsel level and ready for partnership
