I am exclusively supporting a large, multi-site facilities and services organisation on the appointment of a Head of Procurement & Commercial Relationship Management.

This is a senior role within the Procurement and Commercial leadership team, with full ownership of the end-to-end commercial relationship for a dedicated, high-profile customer.

While closely aligned to a Head of Supplier Relationship Management role, this position has broader accountability. It exists to ensure that Category Management operates as a true group function, with this role acting as the senior procurement interface between the customer and the wider Procurement and Commercial teams.

    Role summary:

You will be the senior procurement and commercial lead for a dedicated customer account, accountable for savings delivery, supplier performance, change programmes and overall commercial outcomes.

You will act as the key conduit between Category Managers and the customer, ensuring procurement strategies are executed effectively and that progress, performance and change are clearly governed and communicated.

This role forms part of the senior leadership team and plays a key part in shaping and supporting the wider Procurement and Commercial strategy.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Own the procurement and commercial relationship for a dedicated customer account

    • Act as the primary customer contact for procurement plans including savings, change and strategic initiatives

    • Lead supplier and subcontractor relationship management activity, ensuring KPI delivery, performance improvement and risk mitigation

    • Ensure Category Managers deliver agreed savings, change and commercial outcomes, tracking progress and managing communication

    • Lead customer engagement across the subcontractor and supplier base

    • Ensure commercial delivery against budget, savings targets and service expectations

    • Coordinate activity across Procurement, Category Management, Quantity Surveying, Operations, Finance and the customer interface

    • Provide senior level reporting, insight and governance on supplier and commercial performance

    • Act as a senior escalation point for supplier or commercial issues

    • Contribute to the development of the wider Procurement and Commercial strategy

    Leadership and structure:

    • One direct report

    • Senior leadership responsibility within the Procurement and Commercial function

    • Influence across Category Management without direct line management

    About you:

This role requires a senior procurement professional with strong commercial credibility and the ability to operate confidently in customer facing environments.

    Key requirements:

    • Strong background in Procurement at a senior level

    • Proven experience in supplier and subcontractor management

    • Demonstrable experience managing complex or challenging customer relationships

    • Track record of delivering savings, change and commercial improvement

    • Ability to influence senior stakeholders across a matrix environment

    • Experience working closely with finance, operations and commercial teams

    • Retail and facilities management experience strongly preferred

    • Comfortable with regular travel, typically one to two days per week across Leeds and Glasgow

    Location:

Preference for candidates based within reasonable reach of Glasgow or Leeds. Remote based candidates will be considered, provided there is flexibility for regular travel to both locations.
