    Job Title: HR Assistant

    Location: Erdington, Birmingham, Hybrid

    Reporting to: HR Manager

    Employment Type: Permanent- Full-Time

    Working Hours: Monday to Friday- 08.00am-17.00pm, 1 hour lunch break

    Salary: £27k-£30k depending on experience

    Purpose of the Role

    To be responsible for supporting 1st line Management at the relevant plants on all generalist aspects of HR, whilst providing support on various HR projects

    Scope of the Role

    · Responsible for managing all employee relations issues e.g. Attendance Reviews, Disciplinary, Grievance & Flexible working

    · Supporting the site Project Coordinator’s and Project Manager’s with HR generalist requirements

    · Day to day HR generalist support and advice for the business ensuring consistency across sites.

    · Full Absence Management

    · Maintain GDPR compliance


    Key Responsibilities:

    Employee Relations and Absence Management

    · Manage Employee Relations issues at all plants including Absence Reviews; Disciplinary (up to and including dismissal); Grievance & Flexible Working Requests

    · Support Managers, providing advice and guidance in respect of all ER matters escalating complex cases and appeals as appropriate within the HR structure

    · Work alongside the HR Manager to ensure that all employee relations issues are dealt with in a timely manner in line with the Company policies and procedures

    · Support Managers in respect of managing poor performance and performance improvement plans

    · Effectively manage short and long-term absence processes, to drive a reduction to below the Company target

    · Administration relating to disciplinaries, i.e. Outcome letters

    · Maintaining ER cases tracker and monitoring outcomes

    · Organizing Disciplinary meetings and taking minutes

    Reporting

    · Collate and monitor the weekly statistics and reporting

    · Analysis of all absence statistics to identify trends or concerns

    · Monitor and track all absence return to work forms

    Payroll / Finance

    · Track zero hour holiday accrual and liaise with payroll which days are paid or unpaid for these employees

    · Update and maintain employee information and holiday data on the Holiday Provisions sheet

    · Send weekly and monthly reports relating to each pay run


    Essential Skills & Experience Required:

    · Previous experience in an HR administration role ideally in Automotive, Manufacturing or Industrial environment

    · Experience supporting with ER cases

    · Strong knowledge of UK Employment Law and GDPR

    · Familiarity with HR Systems (e.g., SAP, Sage)

    · Strong organizational and administrative skills

    · Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

    · Ability to handle confidential information sensitively
