    Job description

    Patient Engagement & Screening Coordinator

Location: London (Hybrid – mix of home and site-based)

    About Clerkenwell Health

Clerkenwell Health is a specialist clinical research organisation focused on supporting the development of novel mental health treatments, including psychedelic-assisted therapies. We’re redefining how clinical trials are delivered, creating a patient-first environment that supports innovation, compassion, and impact.

    The Role

We’re looking for a Patient Engagement Coordinator to join our growing team and play a vital role in supporting patients through their clinical trial journey. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients interested in taking part in our trials, screening, guiding, and scheduling them with care and professionalism.

This is a people-focused role where empathy, emotional intelligence, and attention to detail are essential. You’ll be speaking with individuals who may be sharing deeply personal and complex experiences, so the ability to listen, communicate sensitively, and create a safe and supportive interaction is key.

    What does the role entail?

    • Conduct patient pre-screening calls and questionnaires to assess eligibility for clinical trials.
    • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate availability with the clinical and research teams.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the database.
    • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, supporting them throughout the screening and onboarding process.
    • Provide information and guidance about the trial process while managing expectations and timelines.
    • Collaborate closely with the wider clinical operations and patient engagement teams to ensure a smooth patient journey.
    • Support flexible communication with patients, occasionally speaking outside standard hours to accommodate availability.

What will you bring to the role?

    • You have strong emotional intelligence and are comfortable speaking with people about sensitive topics.
    • You’re organised and thrive in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail matters.
    • You have a calm, reassuring communication style and excellent customer service skills.
    • You’re comfortable working flexibly, occasionally speaking with patients outside the traditional 9–5.
    • You’re proactive, responsive, and can juggle multiple schedules and priorities.
    • You’re passionate about mental health and want to be part of an organisation making a real difference in this space.
    • Experience in a helpline, call centre, healthcare, or patient support role where conversations required empathy and professionalism would be advantageous
    • Strong administrative and IT skills, including experience with CRM or database systems.

    What We Offer

    • A supportive and mission-driven environment.
    • Flexible working – hybrid mix of home and clinic-based work.
    • Opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s leading organisations pioneering mental health research.
    • Ongoing training and career development.
