    Location: London SE1 (hybrid working – minimum two days in the office for full time)

    Hours: 35 hours per week full time / we will also consider part time working

    Salary: £55,000 for full time / pro rata for part time

    Contract:1 Year Fixed Term Contract

    About the role

    We are recruiting a Policy and Programmes Delivery Lead on a one-year fixed term contract to provide operational leadership across our policy, practice and innovation work.


    This is a delivery-focused role. You will oversee a complex portfolio of national work, line manage a high-performing team and ensure our strategic priorities translate into clear, well-managed programmes.


    You will work closely with the Chief Executive and Leadership Team to maintain pace, quality and accountability across multiple workstreams. The role requires strong programme management discipline, confident people leadership and sound judgement.


    Experience of adult social care is highly desirable, but proven operational leadership in a complex policy or public-interest environment is essential.


    What you will do

    • Lead the planning and delivery of a multi-strand policy and innovation work programme
    • Maintain clear project plans, milestones, KPIs and risk management processes
    • Line manage and support a team of five professionals
    • Ensure high-quality outputs, including briefings, reports and consultation responses
    • Translate strategic priorities into actionable delivery plans
    • Monitor progress and escalate issues early and constructively
    • Represent the organisation with members and stakeholders where appropriate
    • Maintain oversight of departmental resources and budget

    • Has line managed professional staff and maintained high performance standards
    • Brings structure, clarity and pace to delivery
    • Makes sound decisions and manages competing priorities confidently
    • Communicates clearly and credibly at senior level
    • Demonstrates high emotional intelligence and values-driven leadership
    • Thrives in fast-moving, purpose-driven organisations
