Fisher Civils are working on behalf of one of the South Easts leading Civil Engineering & Groundworks contractors.
We are currently seeking an experienced Groundworks Finishing Foreman to oversee finishing works on a large residential project in Southampton.
Core responsibilities
- Oversee finishing works such as kerbs, paving, manholes, concrete slabs, edges, tarmac prep, and final levels
- Ensure works meet drawings, specs, and tolerances, especially line, level, and falls
- Coordinate snagging and remedial works so areas are ready for inspection and sign-off
- Maintain quality control, fixing defects before they become issues with the client or main contractor
Team & site management
- Supervise groundworkers, plant operators, and subcontractors
- Allocate daily tasks and make sure the right labour, materials, and plant are in place
- Monitor productivity and keep works moving to programme
- Mentor less experienced operatives and set standards on workmanship
Health, safety & compliance
- Enforce site health & safety rules (RAMS, PPE, permits, safe digging, etc.)
- Carry out toolbox talks and brief the team on daily hazards
- Ensure works comply with regulations and site procedures
All applicants must have a valid SSSTS/SMSTS and relevant experience
