Production Team Leader – Food Manufacturing
Location: Leeds (on-site)
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts – mixed days/nights
Salary: £50,000 + excellent benefits and bonus
Pod Talent is proud to be partnering with a leading UK manufacturer at their high-performing production site with modern operations. As the business continues to evolve, invest and raise performance standards across its supply chain, they are now looking for a Production Team Leader to strengthen their operation.
This role sits at the heart of a fast-paced, highly automated environment. You’ll lead a team of experienced operators and technical colleagues, ensuring the line runs safely, smoothly and efficiently while supporting a site that’s undergoing positive transformation. Reporting to the Line Leader, you will play a key role in day-to-day production performance. With new faces joining from major FMCG manufacturers and a renewed focus on culture and performance, this is a great time to join a business moving in the right direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion safety across your shift, promoting hazard identification, safe behaviours and incident prevention.
- Lead and support a team of ~13 operators and technical specialists, providing coaching, feedback and development.
- Manage attendance, wellbeing and performance to maintain a safe and effective workforce.
- Help deliver departmental KPIs across quality, output and efficiency.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in FMCG, food, drinks or high-speed packaging environments.
- Proven people‑leadership experience within manufacturing or supply chain.
- Strong understanding of TPM or similar operational excellence frameworks.
- A safety-first approach with high standards and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lead in a changing environment and influence both new and long-tenured team members.
- Education in mechanical, electrical, food science or manufacturing principles is beneficial but not essential.
