Our London HQ is home to our in-house Design team, who are inspired by the natural world, luxurious fine leathers and the remarkable women who wear our bags. Each design is then responsibly made by our family-run manufacturing partners, in the expert hands of three generations of artisan craftspeople.
We’re looking for a Designer to cover a period of maternity leave, offering a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the development of our Leather Goods collections. In this role, you’ll support all categories with fresh, innovative designs and collaborate closely with the Senior Designer and Creative Director as part of the in‑house Design team. You’ll assist across a range of creative tasks to ensure a cohesive and well‑executed product assortment spanning leather goods, non‑leather goods, and soft accessories.
Success in this role requires exceptional creative abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong project management skills, coupled with a deep product sensitivity and commercial mindset, will be essential in delivering designs that align with both brand vision and market demands.
Collaboration will be at the heart of this role, as you engage with cross-functional teams to bring high-quality, well-crafted leather goods to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Create seasonal strategic design briefs, answering the commercial and artistic needs of the business.
- Identify and deliver detailed style direction on newness and exiting products.
- Present sketch reviews, prototype reviews and sample reviews.
- Work closely with factories and suppliers to commercially deploy vision for product, including all corrections and amendments through the design and development process.
- Work closely with Product Managers on development to include product, materials, pricing and execution.
- Ownership of categories with the support of your manager, to fulfil the Option Count
- Provide clear and effective support to both internal and external customers, addressing their needs and responding promptly.
Skills & Experience
- Adobe Suite proficient, inclusive of Illustrator & Photoshop.
- Design Development: Ability to create innovative and commercially successful designs, including sketching, mood boards and CAD renderings.
- Technical Design: Produce accurate technical drawings that include construction details, measurements and material specifications.
- Trend Research: Staying up to date on the latest fashion trends and styles, and applying those to the Radley consumer.
- Sample Development: Overseeing the creation of samples by working closely with suppliers and the Product Development team, and making suitable revisions where needed.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the Product Development, Buying, Technical and Production teams to ensure designs are executed correctly
- Quality Focus: Ensuring all designs meet high standards of detail, craftmanship and brand consistency
