    Job description

    About the Role:

NRL is recruiting for a NEC Supervisor to support a major client on a flagship project. As NEC Supervisor, you will oversee and verify that works carried out by the Contractor meet the defined technical and contractual requirements. You will provide visible quality oversight on site while supporting strong governance and reporting standards throughout delivery.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Inspecting and reviewing construction works to confirm alignment with Works Information and NEC3 contractual provisions.
    • Raising and managing defect notifications, supporting the rectification and close-out process.
    • Assessing and approving material submissions prior to procurement and site installation.
    • Leading routine quality review meetings to address non-conformances and defect management.
    • Engaging with Local Authority inspectors when required to support obligations under Section 278 agreements.
    • Monitoring site activities to ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, escalating concerns where necessary.
    • Maintaining accurate daily logs covering inspections, testing, and construction progress.
    • Witnessing and validating testing and commissioning activities to confirm compliance.
    • Operating within digital project systems including CEMAR, Field View, and SharePoint.
    • Feeding inspection outcomes and site observations into project quality management systems.
    • Supporting clear communication between the Contractor’s site team, Project Manager, and key stakeholders.
    • Preparing structured written and verbal reports covering quality, programme, safety, environmental matters, and stakeholder performance.
    • Promoting continuous improvement through lessons learned and knowledge-sharing practices.
    • Building effective working relationships across multidisciplinary project teams.
    • Collaborating closely with Construction Managers to uphold project-wide quality standards and assurance objectives.

    What You’ll Bring:

To succeed in this position, you will demonstrate strong technical understanding within complex infrastructure environments and the confidence to uphold contractual compliance on major projects.

    You will also have:

    • Proven experience working in technically demanding project environments, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, security, and environmental performance — ideally within highways or major infrastructure.
    • A degree in engineering, construction, or a related discipline, supported by Chartered status.
    • Practical understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations.
    • Sound knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
    • Valid CSCS card and appropriate health and safety training.
    • Strong written communication and accurate record management skills.
    • The ability to apply a proportionate, risk-based approach to quality assurance.

    Benefits:

    • Competitive salary and benefits package to attract and retain top talent.
    • Free single medical cover and digital GP services.
    • Family-friendly benefits, including enhanced parental leave pay.
    • Free membership of employee assistance and parental programs.
    • Reimbursement for relevant professional development and memberships.
    • Opportunities to engage with the Collectively program, including matched-funding, paid volunteering time, and charitable donations.
