About the role:
The Lead Material Controller will support the TL in running the department and ensure all KPI’s, Goals and Objectives are met and achieving all material and logistics targets.
Primary responsibilities
- Responsible in aiding the team leader in the supervision of logistics and materials, issuing of jobs and any work-related problems that may arise.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects across the Materials Team
- Responsible for looking after all Score / client stock as per procedure
- Responsible for Stock counting of inventory held, investigating discrepancies highlighted by the process through to reconciliation.
- Assist to ensure labour is working at maximum capacity to meet priority deadlines, leading by example
- Ensure adequate ad hoc cover is arranged to cover workload within section
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to customs issues related to the company’s business
- Representing the team at meetings to give updates on material status etc
- Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
Experience & Qualifications
- Desirable – SVQ Level 2 / 3 Warehousing and Stores
- Practical experience of plant used with a warehouse – forklifts / overhead cranes / mobile cranes
- Dangerous Goods for Air and Sea
- Understanding of stock control systems be numerate, have good problem-solving skills with excellent communication both written and verbal.& PC literate in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiar with Import / Export procedures
- Awareness of Risk Assessments within a Materials function
- Previous experience in a similar role along with mentoring, coaching and supervision of staff.
- Strong understanding of inventory control including handling, storing and preservation.
- HR awareness regarding personnel
- Strong commitment towards HSEQ Ability to confidently lead and deal with people issues
