    Job description

    Lincoln Cornhill is proud to be working with a reputable Housing provider in the North West to source a newly created Head of Income & Homeownership on an interim period for 3-6 months. You will be required to visit the office in the North West 2-3 days a week.


    Reporting to the Director of Neighbourhoods, you will be responsible for leading and continuously improving the income and homeownership services to maximise income and reduce debt. The portfolio is varied and includes rent, service charges, leasehold and freehold charges, garages and garden tenancies.


    The range of function which are covered include:

    • Lead on the turnaround of empty homes (voids), meeting key performance indicators on void turnaround and void loss by working collaboratively with external stakeholders including local authority partners and teams across the organisation
    • Lead and be accountable for the delivery of the organisations income, homeownership and commercial services including oversight and assurance across all tenures
    • Responsible for developing and embedding a high performance culture, emphasising high standards, professionalism and fairness at all times
    • To be a subject matter expert on income collection, leasehold and shop management and homeownership services, providing professional advice so that key decisions are taken with full knowledge and risks are mitigated
    • Work in partnership with the Head of Communities, to embed a culture of debt prevention and income maximisation through a joined-up approach to improve outcomes for customers and the organisation.
    • Work in collaboration with the data team to collate, analyse and interpret data on emerging service trends, developments, opportunities and innovations to support colleagues in planning, policy setting and performance improvement
    • Ensure there is strong and effective management and performance oversight which delivers high quality services to meet the expectations of the organisations customers and key stakeholders, including the Regulator of Social Housing and other enforcement and regulatory bodies
    • Ensure that services are forward thinking, efficient, and responsive with a focus on continuous improvement and assurance, and on forward planning and using data to understand trends and identify interventions


    Experience and skills required:

    • Proven track record in driving improvements in income maximisation
    • Significant experience in the social housing sector and a thorough understanding of regulation, compliance and legislation that affects the delivery of housing services by registered providers
    • Understanding the delivery of tenancy sustainment and neighbourhood services and the impact of these on customers and the communities in which they live
    • Proven experience of leading and managing teams through cultural change and business transformation
    • Experience of managing complex budgets and a robust approach to risk management.
