Our Client is a well‑established, London‑based specialist insurance broker with an international footprint as they look to appoint a Legal Counsel into their growing in‑house team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor seeking varied, high‑quality work within a respected and collaborative environment.
About the Role
The Legal Counsel will work closely with stakeholders across the business, providing strategic and practical legal support. The remit is broad and includes:
- Insurance law advice, including contract wording and broker duties
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and insurance-related contracts
- Regulatory advisory work alongside the Compliance function
- Managing E&O matters, commercial disputes, and employment‑related issues
- Supporting HR with contract reviews, disputes, and organisational changes
- Advising on IP, commercial queries, and lease reviews across global offices
- Delivering internal training and legal updates
This role offers genuine breadth, autonomy, and visibility across the organisation.
Candidate Profile
The business is seeking a:
- Qualified solicitor with minimum 3PQE+ (more senior candidates are also encouraged to apply) with strong insurance sector experience (broking preferred)
- Confident drafter with solid commercial awareness
- Strong communicator, able to build trusted relationships at all levels
- Pragmatic problem-solver, comfortable managing multiple priorities
