    Research Associate

    Pay: £15 per hour

    Term: 12 Months

    Location: Cambridge


    The Research Associate is responsible for performing antibody conjugation to various labels and subsequent purification both through using established protocols, and supporting the development of new protocols.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Learn and perform antibody conjugations using advanced technologies and assist in evaluating product quality using techniques such as HPLC, FPLC (AKTA), and spectroscopy.
    • Support the evaluation and development of new antibody labelling reagents and conjugation methods
    • Prepare buffers and reagents, contribute to lab housekeeping, and ensure accurate documentation in line with SOPs and ISO9001:2015 standards.
    • Communicate effectively with team members, contribute to process improvements, and support cross-functional coordination for downstream activities.


    The essential requirements of the job include:

    • Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry.

    • Awareness and understanding of:

    • Technical principles, literature, and methodologies in protein conjugation chemistry and protein labelling reagents.
    • Protein purification techniques (SEC, IEX).
    • Quality control methods such as ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), and imaging applications.
    • Excellent attention to detail, with relevant experience of working in a lab environment. Demonstrates a flexible mindset and ability to adapt to shifting priorities and customer demands.
