    Interim HR Business Partner – Consultation, Change and Restructuring (Fixed-Term Contract)

    Location: London preferred but can be flexible with willingness to travel

    Contract: Fixed-Term Contract (12 months)

    Salary: £80,000 plus bonus and benefits.



    About the Role

    We are seeking a HR Business Partner to to join our retained client on a fixed-term basis to support an organisational change and operating model transformation programme.

    This role will provide expert capability across employee relations, consultation, and change management activity, working closely with HR Business Partners, senior business leaders, and external advisers to ensure the consistent, compliant, and high-quality delivery of complex people programmes.

    The role will be "the engine" to supporting organisational change, safeguarding employee experience, and maintaining strong governance throughout periods of transition.



    Key Responsibilities

    You will act as a subject matter expert for executing operating model change and ER programmes, with responsibilities including:



    Organisational Change & Consultation

    • Support the implementation of a new Target Operating Model and associated change initiatives.
    • Establish and manage Employee Resource Groups and facilitate collective consultation processes.
    • Design and deliver consultation frameworks in line with UK employment legislation and best practice.
    • Partner with HRBPs and leaders to ensure consistency across change activity.



    Employee Relations & Case Management

    • Manage employee relations (ER) matters, including redundancy, performance, grievance, and conduct cases.
    • Provide expert guidance to managers and HR colleagues on ER risk and resolution.
    • Oversee compliant and well-governed offboarding processes.
    • Draft and manage settlement agreements in partnership with external legal advisers.
    • Ensure all activity is legally compliant and appropriately documented.
    • Maintain robust governance and audit trails.



    Communications & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Draft high-quality internal communications, including leadership scripts, FAQs, briefing packs, and employee updates.
    • Support leaders in delivering sensitive messages with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders during periods of change.



    Programme Support & Capability Building

    • Provide hands-on support to HR Business Partners during live programmes.
    • Develop practical toolkits, templates, and guidance materials.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of ER and change management practices.



    About You

    You will be an experienced HR professional with a strong track record in supporting complex organisational change and employee relations activity.



    You are likely to bring:

    • Proven experience in HR Business Partnering or specialist ER/change roles.
    • Demonstrable expertise in collective consultation and organisational change programmes.
    • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
    • Experience managing settlement agreements and working with external legal advisers.
    • Confidence handling high-risk and sensitive employee relations matters.
    • Excellent written communication skills.
    • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability.
    • A pragmatic, resilient, and solutions-focused approach.
    • CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
