    Job description

    About us:

Established in 1969, Morson Group has grown from a small start-up to a global leader in recruitment, with a £1.4 billion turnover. With over 30 offices in the UK and locations across Canada, the USA, Australia, and Europe, we’re proud to be the UK’s top technical recruitment agency and the 3rd largest worldwide. We're also honoured to be ranked among the Top 100 Best Large Companies to Work For!

Under the leadership of our Executive Chairman, Ged Mason OBE, who took the reins from his father, founder Gerry Mason, nearly a decade ago, we've thrived while maintaining the values that make Morson unique. We’re a close-knit, hardworking team that’s grounded in kindness, care, and collaboration. It’s why over 35% of our colleagues have been with us for over 10 years – loyalty and passion run deep at Morson!

    About the Role

We are seeking a detail-driven and highly organised Rail Compliance Administrator to support the effective management of rail compliance across our business.

This is a pivotal administrative role that underpins our commitment to safety, regulatory adherence, and operational excellence. You will maintain compliance systems, manage critical records, and provide essential support to internal teams, ensuring we meet rail industry standards and company policies at all times.

This position is offered as a 12-month fixed term contract, with hybrid working arrangements based from our HQ in Salford.

If you thrive in structured environments, enjoy working with systems and data, and take pride in accuracy and accountability, this role offers a strong platform within a regulated and safety-critical sector.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Compliance & Systems Administration

    • Maintain and update rail compliance systems.
    • Ensure records relating to working hours, fatigue management, and safety compliance are accurate and up to date.
    • Process sponsorships, sub-sponsorships, and de-sponsorships in line with regulatory requirements.

    Training & Competency Support

    • Upload and monitor training records across compliance platforms.
    • Track contractor and employee competencies, ensuring certifications and accreditations remain valid.
    • Provide administrative support during compliance-related onboarding processes.

    Collaboration & Documentation

    • Work with internal teams to provide documentation for audits and project requirements.
    • Assist in preparing and maintaining records for internal and external audits.
    • Support compliance-related initiatives, including carbon data reporting and other reporting obligations.

    Governance & Compliance Support

    • Act as a first point of contact for compliance-related administrative queries.
    • Support systems and processes that ensure alignment with rail industry regulations and company policies.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies within compliance practices.

    Skills & Experience

    Essential:

    • Previous experience in an administrative or compliance support role.
    • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Experience handling sensitive data and maintaining accurate records.
    • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively across departments.

    Desirable:

    • Familiarity with Sentinel, Signal Software, MC, or Talisman systems.
    • Experience within a rail or other regulated environment.
    • Basic understanding of rail industry compliance requirements.
