    FASHION IMPORT MERCHANDISER

    BASED IN SLOUGH

    £35K


    Our client a very well established and successful fashion apparel supplier to the high street retailers in the UK and USA are now looking to recruit and experienced Import Fashion Merchandiser. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years experienced working for a fast paced fashion supplier and working with high street retailers, overseas factories and suppliers, critical path, Labdips and Print strike off.




    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES



    Merchandising the DKNY account

    Daily communication with factories and Far East office, to update critical path with order progress.


    Navigating orders using the critical path – it is solely the merchandiser’s responsibility to ensure this document is fully updated at all times and is constantly reviewed and submits are chased accordingly.


    Liaising with Licensor and getting Proto approved ,


    Lead weekly critical path meetings with the relevant account manager and tech, providing a full status update on each line.


    Placing garment purchase orders.


    Send contracts to factories and obtain confirmation of ex-factory dates & cost


    Directing Assistant Merchandiser in arranging fully informed artwork, size specs, packaging requirements to factories for all new orders.


    Develop or source all relevant packaging and barcodes.


    Working closely with the factories and internal teams to ensure goods are shipped correctly and timely. Giving approvals at each stage of the production cycle.


    Management of production schedule, ensuring tasks are completed to plan, to maintain the agreed shipment dates.


    Working closely with the garment technical to ensure quality standards are met and inform factory on next steps.


    Approving Labdips , Print Strike off, fabric strike off .


    Analyzing samples at all stages for styling and production techniques and feedback instruction to factory on how to proceed.


    Liaising with QC, testing and analysing reports, ensuring BS/USA/COUNTRY SPECIFIC testing standards are adhered to.


    Managing Assistant Merchandiser to drive development, pre-prod and production sealing – ensuring specifics are met, and gaining the appropriate approval at each stage.


    Overseeing shipping for all orders, using customer specific booking platforms and freight forwarders.


    Chasing Invoice and packing lists, ensuring final copies are saved onto server, and handed to accounts dept.


    Exposure and development in various e-booking platforms such as Damco, Ceva, APL, including invoicing, packing lists and COO documentation requirements for specific retailers.


    Managing company programme platform, updating all costs and delivery dates into our system.



    KEY SKILLS



    Have a strong understanding of fashion apparel production lifestyle

    Must be willing to travel to visit factories

    Ability to manage workload and prioritise where required

    Can confidently report to team on tasks and flag issues where found

    Attention to detail is key – Labdips , Print strike off

    Can confidently work alone but equally thrives in a team

    Strong excel skills

    Very organised

    Good communication skills

    Keen to succeed and help in all situations

    Can think laterally and problem solve
