HR Business Partner
12 Month Contract

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a well-established and respected engineering and construction business in Chiswick. Operating for more than 100 years, with offices across the globe, the company has been providing its services to clients in the energy sector, working on large mega-projects across oil and gas and energy transition.
The HR Business Partner will report into the HR Manager and will be responsible for building positive and effective partnering relationships with assigned client groups and the wider business to support the delivery of comprehensive and robust HR services.
The HR BP will ensure that managers and employees are aware of the policies and procedures and able to operate them effectively and make sound judgement on issues to find workable solutions. To support business requirements in a full range of Business Partnering responsibilities including recruitment, retention, training and development, well-being, employee relations.
Other responsibilities include:
- Building strong, credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable understanding of the operational and strategic challenges and support needed.
- Partnering with Functional Leads, COE’s and stakeholders to successfully deliver HR strategies to support business performance and organisational strategic delivery.
- Partnering with functional leads to deliver change management initiatives across the UK and Europe - including planning and implementing organisational and people change, working across business functions to develop ideas, consult and advise on translating vision into actionable plans.
- Partnering with COE’s and functional leads to deliver local and global L&D and workforce planning strategies such as functional reviews, international transfers, succession planning, talent reviews and skills gaps analysis exercises.
- Designing and leading the implementation and delivery of engagement and retention strategies in partnership with COE’s, Functional Leads and line managers.
- Leading and supporting local and global HR initiatives and projects.
- Partnering with functional leads in setting and managing headcount and staffing budgets.
- Proactive ER management - taking a data led approach to identify employee relations trends, recommending solutions, and coaching line managers to take any actions required to proactively mitigating ER issues.
- Own the end-to-end employee life cycle – partnering with line managers and acting as a single point of contact for employees within client group.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must possess the following education, skills and experience:
- Must be degree educated or equivalent work experience
- CIPD (Level 5 or 7) or working towards completion of a recognized HR Qualification is preferrable.
- Delivering HR in complex, international matrix organisations
- Good all round, diverse relevant experience gained at Business Partner level
- Redundancy processes, collective consultations, grievance, disciplinary, employment tribunal
- Organisational change – participating and representing
- Resourcing experience – interviewing and providing guidance to those hiring
- Ability to question and challenge where this is necessary
- Working experience at HRBP level in an Engineering or Construction environment preferable
- Ability to work accurately and at pace with a group of managers of varying seniority.
- Grounded and commercially driven knowledge of relevant employment law interpretation and application.
- Ability to research, develop and promote/implement new policy or projects
- Solution driven ability to work with managers/teams.Willing to ‘own the problem’ and find creative solutions.
