    Production Planner

    Location: Lancaster (Office-based)

    Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)

    Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

    Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

    About the Role

    You will be responsible for developing, coordinating and maintaining detailed production schedules that optimise resources, minimise downtime and support on‑time delivery. This includes balancing production capacity with material availability, integrating maintenance plans, and adjusting schedules proactively in response to operational changes. You’ll also support continuous improvement by identifying risks, analysing data and proposing solutions that enhance production flow and reliability.


    Key Responsibilities

    1. Create and maintain detailed production schedules to satisfy vinyl sales order commitments, projected demand and finished goods stock holding requirements, whilst ensuring optimal plant process efficiency.
    2. Collaborate with supply chain and finished goods warehouse teams to manage inventory levels and avoid shortages or excess stock.
    3. Coordinate with procurement to ensure raw materials are available to meet production requirements.
    4. Create vinyl customer order deliveries & coordinate the deliveries of goods.
    5. Receive distributor and customer sales enquiries, ensuring that all relevant information is obtained and communicated in order to completely satisfy the requirement.
    6. Carry out stock adjustments on a daily basis in order to keep the stocks accurate at all times. This includes the weekly adhesive stock take.
    7. Communicate any issues of interest and/or concern to appropriate colleagues in a timely and accurate manner, particularly affecting customer service in full on time delivery
    8. Create the open order reports for the different subsidiaries and e-mail out, ensuring that all relevant information is obtained and communicated in order to completely satisfy the in full on time delivery requirements.
    9. Creation of shipping notifications and booking in of goods where required.
    10. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying risks and proposing solutions related to production scheduling.
    11. Prepare regular reports on production status, delays, and potential issues for management review.


    Qualifications & Experience

    • 5 Years proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar role within manufacturing or production environment.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Good MS Office computer skills, including an above average working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. For example: including VLOOKUP, formulas, pivot tables, charts and data analysis tools.
    • Knowledge of SAP desirable.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
