Here at ISS, as one of the UK's leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, we are looking to put Engineering and Projects front and centre within our truly major Healthcare segment.
This is a brand new role, and part of a wider effort to advance our Technical offering within Healthcare, which consists of several Hard FM contracts with NHS Trusts, some of which are PFI agreements.
We provide Mechanical, Electrical and Fabric maintenance plus a Capital Projects service, by a mixture of local engineers and our central expert functions.
Reporting into the MD of the segment, you line manage a Senior Technical team and act as the Healthcare "face" of the Hard FM Technical and Capital Projects delivery within ISS and to external clients.
In short, you will drive the technical strategy, in a way which is coherent and engaging for technical, and none technical stakeholders, encouraging and driving best practice across the segment with all things Technical and Projects.
This is a Senior/Head of Technical level of role with segment wide leadership responsibilities and is a fantastic role for an individual to raise the profile of engineering across our massive Healthcare Division.
Specific actions will include:
- Provide leadership, direction, guidance and support in the provision of all elements of technical and project services in Healthcare Sector
- Provide specialist and professional advice to Healthcare in relation to local and sector strategic and operational management of the estate(s).
- To represent Healthcare technically and work with the commercial team as required to provide advice and support.
- Review and monitor asset lifecycle plans to optimise with consideration for contractual risk transfer.
- Keep abreast of changes in legislation. Interpret, apply and monitor compliance of this legislation, ACOP’s, HTM’s, HBN’s, HSE Guidance Notes, NHS Policy, British Standards and best practice to advise & guide.
- Ensure that environmental, energy management and sustainability measures are adopted for technical operations wherever possible.
- To work with Healthcare leadership team and improve compliance to review the technical audit /inspection schedule for each technical contract to ensure that all regulatory and statutory contractual obligations are being met.
- Supporting and participation of shortlisted frameworks.
- To support the Head of Projects in the implementation and delivery of projects & technical support services across the portfolio to ensure high standard of service.
We need from you:
- Highly effective communication skills with an ability to speak technical to none technical audiences
- Ability to promote working collaboration
- Senior, extensive technical leadership experience
- An Engineering background/qualification
- Knowledge of HTMs not mandatory but would be useful
