Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Non-Working Scaffold Supervisor to oversee and manage scaffolding operations across the South West region. This is a non-hands-on supervisory role, responsible for ensuring scaffolding works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures and statutory regulations. The role will involve close liaison with the South West, site teams, clients, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage scaffolding operations across multiple sites within the South West region
- Ensure all scaffolding works are carried out in compliance with TG20, SG4, company procedures, and health & safety legislation
- Conduct site inspections, scaffold handovers, and regular safety audits
- Plan, coordinate, and allocate labour and resources in line with programme requirements
- Act as the main point of contact on site for clients, principal contractors, and other stakeholders
- Ensure RAMS, permits, and relevant documentation are in place prior to works commencing
- Monitor productivity, quality, and programme performance
- Identify and resolve site issues, reporting any risks or delays to the management team at Yeovil
- Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions where required
- Assist with mentoring, training, and development of scaffold teams
- Ensure company standards of workmanship, housekeeping, and professionalism are maintained at all times
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a Scaffold Supervisor role
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems, methods, and industry standards
- Sound understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice
- Experience supervising multiple sites and managing teams
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, scaffold designs, and method statements
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Confident dealing with clients and senior site personnel
- Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points) and willingness to travel
Qualifications (Essential / Desirable)
- Advanced Scaffolder (CISRS) – essential
- Scaffold Supervisor Training Scheme (SSTS) or SMSTS – desirable
- CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test
- First Aid at Work – advantageous
