    Job description

Regional Clinician – Short-term Assessment Homes

Peak District, Telford, Lutterworth & Burton-upon-Trent

    £40,000 DOE + Mileage + Benefits

    Full-Time, Permanent

*To apply for this role, you must have a car and driver’s license*

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Clinician to join a specialist therapeutic residential care provider supporting children and young people with complex and high-risk needs. This is a hire within a well-established national clinical team, offering the chance to work in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment where no two days are the same.

    About the Role

The Regional Clinician will provide clinical support across a number of short-term assessment homes. These homes deliver crisis and stabilisation placements for young, supporting transition to longer-term placements, foster care or return home where appropriate. This is a highly dynamic role requiring rapid assessment, formulation and time-limited therapeutic intervention, alongside strong consultation and support to residential care teams.

The role is primarily consultative, focusing on stabilisation, staff guidance and embedding therapeutic approaches, rather than holding a traditional long-term therapy caseload.

You will join a national clinical team of experienced clinicians, working collaboratively with regional colleagues and receiving regular peer support and supervision. Close partnership with home managers, deputies and residential teams is essential to ensure therapeutic consistency and effective care planning.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct rapid clinical and risk assessments on admission
    • Deliver brief, time-limited therapeutic interventions where appropriate
    • Provide ongoing consultation, formulation and guidance to care teams
    • Facilitate reflective practice groups and post-incident debriefs
    • Produce structured assessment and formulation reports within placement timelines
    • Support implementation of trauma-informed and PACE-informed care approaches
    • Build effective working relationships with home managers and regional leadership
    • Adapt clinical strategies to meet changing needs across multiple homes
    • Maintain flexibility to respond to crisis presentations and shifting priorities

    Benefits

    • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + birthday leave
    • Flexible working hours and compressed week options
    • Private medical cover and dental care
    • Electric car salary sacrifice scheme
    • Enhanced maternity leave
    • Ongoing CPD including ACE training and DBT training

    Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience supporting children and adolescents
    • HCPC registration
    • Experience in CAMHS, inpatient or crisis settings
    • Skilled in assessment, formulation and short-term interventions
    • Strong clinical judgement, organisation and communication skills
    • Adaptable, resilient and able to build rapport with staff and carers
    • Experience with SEND, SEMH and/or LAC
    • Residential or care home experience
    • Strong report writing skills
