This is a hands-on Development role within a fast-growing, international food group supplying world-famous customers. You’ll sit within the R&D team, supporting the development of new and existing products, helping turn briefs into real, workable solutions that perform both in the kitchen and on the production line.
You’ll support customer and internally led projects, assist with pilot plant trials, follow development recipes accurately and help apply materials exactly to spec. From weighing ingredients through to cooking products for tastings and presentations, this is a practical, detail-driven role where accuracy matters. You’ll also help manage ingredients, prepare for project work and work in a lean way to minimise waste.
Innovation is a big part of the culture. You’ll test new raw materials, support concept work and build your understanding of ingredient functionality and process. Safety and hygiene are non-negotiable, and you’ll work within strict PPE and safe systems of work while contributing to risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a collaborative team environment. You’ll work closely with R&D colleagues, suppliers and other internal departments, building strong relationships and gaining exposure to real customer-facing development work. For someone with ambition and a growth mindset, there is genuine scope to develop your technical capability over time.
What will you need?
- Food science degree/qualification OR existing experience in a food development/R&D role
