    JOB TITLE: Materials Planner

    LOCATION: Aberdeen

    JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent


    Role Overview

    TEXO Recruitment is supporting our client in the search for an Materials Demand Planner to join their supply chain function. Based in Aberdeen, this role will support international rebuild programmes, offshore installation projects, and day-to-day operational readiness through effective materials planning, forecasting, and logistics coordination.


    Working with a high degree of autonomy, the successful candidate will oversee demand and supply planning activities across multiple regions and project streams. The role partners closely with operations, engineering, logistics providers, suppliers, and internal supply chain teams to ensure material availability, optimise inventory, and maintain delivery performance across workshop, shipyard, and offshore scopes. You will also contribute to planning process improvements and broader operational and financial performance goals.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead demand and materials planning activities across global rebuild and installation project portfolios
    • Coordinate with workshop, installation, and engineering teams to align material requirements with project schedules
    • Work with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics functions to manage sourcing, delivery timelines, and global material flows
    • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts and planning parameters within MRP systems
    • Monitor stock levels and adjust plans to balance availability with inventory efficiency
    • Identify supply risks and constraints, and implement mitigation plans to protect project delivery
    • Provide guidance and task direction to junior or less experienced planning personnel
    • Act as a subject matter resource for materials planning, inventory control, and cost optimisation
    • Analyse planning and performance data to drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and supply reliability
    • Support cost and performance targets through effective planning and coordination
    • Prepare and present planning reports and insights to stakeholders as required


    Education & Experience

    • Extensive experience in materials management, demand planning, procurement, or logistics within an industrial or project-based environment
    • Typically 10+ years’ relevant experience, or a degree-level qualification with several years of related supply chain experience
    • Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site or multi-region operations
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability


    Role-Specific Skills

    • Advanced data analysis, forecasting, and planning skills
    • Strong systems and computer literacy across standard business and supply chain tools
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operational stakeholders
    • Confident preparing reports, summaries, and planning presentations
