Legal Assistant [Commercial Property]

£24,000 per annum
9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
I’m working with a well‑regarded law firm in Brighton who are looking for a friendly, organised Legal Assistant to join their Commercial Property team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping a busy office running smoothly and wants to build their experience within a fast‑paced legal environment.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role in supporting the team day‑to‑day, including:
- Opening new files, maintaining the client database and completing AML checks
- Managing shared inboxes and speaking confidently with clients on the phone
- Monitoring deadlines and keeping tasks on track
- Handling client onboarding and risk assessments
- Using the Land Registry portal to obtain documents and submit applications
- Assisting with completions and arranging payments
- Supporting with billing and invoicing
- Digital audio typing and document production
- Diary management and arranging meetings
- Scanning, post handling and general office administration
About you
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, approachable and easy to work with
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing general admin and keeping systems tidy
- Confident speaking to clients and third parties on the phone
- Happy to take initiative, ask questions and learn on the job
- Competent using Word, Excel and (ideally) case management systems
- A good attitude and willingness to learn
