Head of Legal Innovation - AI & Technology
About the role
I’m working with an award-winning law firm in support of their search for a Head of Legal Innovation to shape and deliver its AI and legal technology agenda. This is a senior leadership role within the Technology function, focused on transforming legal service delivery through intelligent use of AI, automation and data.
Reporting into the Technology leadership team, you will be managing a talented team focused on horizon planning and delivering new legal technology solutions across the firm and for clients. Additionally, you'd take full ownership of the firm's innovation strategy, which will involve the delivery of greenfield AI-focused programmes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the firmwide legal technology and AI strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Lead and grow a high-performing innovation team, setting direction, priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee delivery of AI-driven initiatives across legal operations, knowledge management and client-facing services.
- Partner with senior lawyers, BD and marketing teams to shape innovation-led client propositions and support panel tenders.
- Strengthen supplier relationships across the legal tech and AI ecosystem.
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading AI transformation within a law firm or legal services environment.
- Strong track record of delivering AI-enabled projects, generative AI use cases, document automation, workflow automation or data-driven legal solutions.
- Deep understanding of the legal technology landscape and how it will continue to transform the legal sector.
- Experience operating at senior stakeholder level, influencing partners and C-suite leaders.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to articulate value and return on investment.
