Senior Garment Technologist / Garment Technologist
A number of leading and well-established fashion suppliers are seeking both Senior Garment Technologists and Garment Technologists to join their growing technical teams. These opportunities offer the chance to work with major supermarket and high street retailers across ladieswear and selected childrenswear ranges, with a focus on jersey cut & sew and ladies separates across both jersey and woven product categories.
These roles will play a key part in ensuring product quality, fit, and compliance from development through to bulk production, working closely with design, sourcing, and manufacturing partners across international supply bases.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the garment technology process from development through to bulk production across ladieswear and some childrenswear ranges.
- Provide technical expertise across jersey cut & sew and ladies separates (jersey and wovens).
- Conduct fit sessions, evaluate samples, and provide clear technical feedback to suppliers.
- Create and manage detailed technical workbooks, specifications, and size standards.
- Ensure garments meet required quality, performance, and safety standards.
- Approve garment construction, grading, and fit standards.
- Work closely with design, product development, and sourcing teams to deliver commercially viable products.
- Liaise with offshore factories, particularly across Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Morocco.
- Support critical path management and ensure key deadlines are achieved.
- Identify and resolve technical or production issues.
- Ensure compliance with retailer requirements and industry standards.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a Garment Technologist or Senior Garment Technologist role within a fashion supplier or retailer.
- Strong technical knowledge of jersey cut & sew and ladieswear separates across both jersey and woven fabrics.
- Experience working with supermarket retailers is essential, alongside exposure to high street fashion customers.
- Experience across ladieswear and ideally childrenswear.
- Strong workbook and technical specification experience.
- Experience working with factories in Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Morocco.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
