Junior Legal Counsel (NQ – 1 Year PQE) | Milton Keynes | £55k – £60k + Bonus & Benefits
Exciting new Junior Legal Counsel opportunity based in the Milton Keynes area for an NQ – 1 year PQE Solicitor with experience in the financial services sector. This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week in the office (likely increased presence during the initial probation). Trainee Solicitors due qualify across the next three months, are encouraged to apply.
The Role:
To gain broad in-house experience across financial services and commercial matters, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan agreements and intercompany agreements
- Conducting and advising on section checks and other compliance requirements
- Supporting on anti-money laundering (AML) obligations
- Advising on data protection
- Assisting with debt recovery and disputes as and when required
This role offers exposure to a wide range of matters in a collaborative environment, allowing the successful candidate to build commercial expertise and in-house experience.
Applicants Profile:
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) between NQ to 1 year PQE or a current trainee solicitor due to qualify
- Experience in the financial services sector, particularly with non-contentious commercial work
- Applicants will be considered with a private practice ( a secondment In-House would be an advantage) or an In-House background
- Familiarity with loan agreements, intercompany agreements, section checks, and AML compliance
- Knowledge of data protection desirable
- Some exposure to debt recovery or disputes would be an advantage
- Adaptable, resilient, and commercially minded
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Must be in a location easily commutable to Milton Keynes
