Are you ready to shape the future of connectivity in the UK? We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Commercial Legal to lead a team of commercial lawyers and play a pivotal role in supporting corporate and commercial operations.
Reporting to the Director of Legal and sitting on the UK Leadership Team, you’ll guide contract negotiations, manage legal risk, oversee in-life legal matters including dispute resolution, and develop commercial legal operations to enable sales teams with new products, solutions, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and coach a team of 3–5 commercial lawyers to deliver high-quality, commercially-focused legal advice under tight timelines, balancing risk with business needs.
- Provide sales-oriented commercial and procurement legal support, enabling fast, risk-based decisions and an “easy-to-do-business-with” approach.
- Drive the implementation of AI tools within the legal team and across the business.
- Shape and lead the business approach to standard contracting, maintaining playbooks and delivering training on contractual issues.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of a bank of precedent documents tailored to different business areas and solutions.
- Lead drafting, negotiation, and advisory on complex strategic and operational commercial contracts and projects from tender stage through in-life operations.
Experience & Qualifications
- UK-qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practicing certificate.
- Proven experience managing and coaching a team of professionals, including senior lawyers, in fast-paced environments.
- Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience at a senior level, including in-house exposure.
- Significant experience negotiating and advising on complex B2B contracts.
- Previous telecoms, infrastructure, or technology experience preferred, or demonstrable ability to quickly learn new sectors and adapt commercial contracting approaches to business needs.
