We are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join a leading civil engineering principal contractor on a major, complex project based in Hampshire, near Southampton. This is a site-focused role working closely with the project team on a scheme with more than two years left to run.
This is a traditional Advisor‑level position, involving responsibilities such as conducting site audits, reviewing and developing RAMS, carrying out accident and incident investigations, and providing day-to-day health and safety support. We are looking for candidates with proven experience in the civil engineering sector who are confident working in a dynamic, site-based environment.
The Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for:
- Driven and enthusiastic individual with a passion for health & safety
- Site-focused, carrying out audits and inspections across the project
- Able to work autonomously and manage their own diary and workload.
- Support the team to create a positive health & safety culture
- Lead on accident investigations and near misses to identify root causes and implement improvement plans.
- Promote Health & Safety initiatives
- Manage internal & external stakeholders
The Health & Safety Advisor will have:
- 2 Years + experience working in health & safety
- NEBOSH Certificate minimum
- Experience working in civil engineering or the construction industry
- Major projects experience a benefit
- Position is project-focused, required to be on-site 4/5 days per week. Applicants must be commutable to the location
