π§ The Opportunity
A well-established UK organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential to transition into a permanent role.
This is a hands-on position during a key phase of payroll transformation. Youβll need strong experience with Workday Payroll alongside full ownership of end-to-end UK payroll processing.
This role would suit someone confident, detail-focused, and comfortable taking responsibility for payroll accuracy and compliance in a changing environment.
πΌ Key Responsibilities
- Manage UK payroll end-to-end
- Act as the internal subject matter expert for Workday Payroll
- Support payroll system optimisation and ongoing improvements
- Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation (SSP, maternity, pensions, RTI, etc.)
- Process complex payroll elements including commission, overtime, and variable pay
- Validate payroll data, reporting, and outputs
- Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively
- Partner closely with HR and Finance stakeholders

- 3β5 yearsβ minimum UK payroll experience
- Extensive, hands-on experience with Workday Payroll (essential)
- Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience
- Confident managing payroll complexities and legislative requirements
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking full ownership
- Reliable, organised, and calm under pressure
