Role: Claims Assessor (Medical / Group Protection)
Location: Hybrid – Hove
Working Pattern: Hybrid working
Purpose:
- Deliver fair, informed, and compassionate assessment of Group Protection claims, ensuring accurate liability decisions and a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and triage Group Protection claims within authority levels.
- Determine appropriate medical evidence and authorise related expenditure.
- Carry out detailed liability assessments in line with claims philosophy and regulatory standards.
- Build effective relationships with intermediaries and employer policyholders.
- Identify trends and contribute to management information and portfolio performance analysis.
- Propose rehabilitation or return-to-work support where appropriate.
- Support and develop colleagues through training and mentoring.
- Contribute to consistent, compliant claims processes and service delivery.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience assessing medical or Group Protection claims.
- Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
- Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage a defined portfolio.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a regulated environment.
