    Job description

Priory Hospital Chelmsford is looking to recruit a Psychologist to join the team. This is a full-time/part-time role.

We are seeking a motivated clinician to join our Eating Disorder service, working Monday to Friday. The role includes managing a clinical caseload, delivering both group programmes and 1:1 sessions, and working collaboratively alongside our consultancy team to provide high-quality, evidence-based care. Experience in Eating Disorders is desirable. Newly qualified candidates will also be considered. Applicants must hold HCPC registration or have registration pending.

Situated within three acres of landscaped grounds, Priory Hospital Chelmsford is an independent hospital that specialises in the treatment and management of adults and adolescents with a range of mental health problems. There is a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff, which includes consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and therapists.

The hospital offers calming and recovery-focused residential treatment for up to 60 service users, as well as day care and outpatient services, including separate facilities for young people.

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a psychologist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

    • Conduct psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
    • Provide evidence-based individual and group therapies to support recovery and emotional regulation.
    • Collaborate with medical staff to monitor mental health alongside physical health treatment.
    • Facilitate psychoeducation for patients and families to enhance understanding of eating disorders.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to service development and staff supervision.

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist to work on our Eating Disorders Unit . The post holder will need to have a recognised qualification with at least 1 years experience of working with an eating disorder client group. The successful applicant will be accredited with an appropriate professional body and should be familiar with using psychological assessment tools. The ability to work within CBT and DBT models would be desirable.

The post holder will require excellent communication skills and will need to work closely with the existing MDT team within the Eating Disorders Unit.

We want you to succeed at Priory and thrive in your role. You will be well supported with regular career conversations. We also offer full training and numerous pathways into leadership and qualified clinical positions to help you shape your career with us.
