    Job description

    Expected Start Date: 9th February – 31st March (second phase of assessments currently being negotiated

    Expected End Date: 31st March 2026

    Pay Rate: £350 per completed assessment

    Overview

    We are seeking experienced Occupational Therapists and Speech & Language Therapists to join our Children’s Autism MDT Assessment Service. This project will be delivered in partnership with Trust and involves the completion of approximately 227 full diagnostic assessments within the agreed timeframe.

    Clinicians will work as part of multidisciplinary teams alongside Paediatricians and Psychiatrists, supported by YW management and administrative teams.


    Role Responsibilities

    • Conduct face-to-face ASD assessments for children and young people using ADOS-2 / ADI-R.
    • Provide sensory, functional, and communication-based assessments to inform the diagnostic formulation.
    • Contribute to MDT discussions, clinical reasoning, and final diagnostic decisions.
    • Produce high-quality clinical reports with recommendations and developmental insights.
    • Submit reports within agreed timescales.
    • Attend weekly update meetings with YW management team.
    • Ensure accurate record keeping and case documentation via SystemOne (training provided).


    Requirements

    • HCPC registration (OT or SLT).
    • Experience in paediatric ASD assessment within an MDT setting (minimum 2 years desirable).
    • ADOS-2 / ADI-R trained.
    • Up-to-date mandatory training including Safeguarding Children Level 3.
    • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete).
    • Strong written communication and report writing skills.
    • Ability to work within clinic hours (9:00am–7:00pm, Monday–Friday). 3 assessments to be completed per day.


    Additional Information

    • All patient bookings and administrative functions are managed by YW.
    • NHS laptop and telephone provided by The Trust (collection required).
    • Report writing may be completed remotely, within agreed SOP timescales.
    • Oversight, governance, and workforce management provided by YW.
