We are looking for an all-round electrical engineer who thrives in a hands-on engineering environment. You will join a new, dynamic team working on diverse projects, contributing to both in-house developed systems and solutions based on leading international marine brands.
In this role, you will be involved throughout the full technical lifecycle: designing, building, programming, testing, maintaining, and improving marine electronic systems used in professional and demanding environments. Most of your work takes place in Utrecht, in a modern office and workshop, with occasional visits to client locations across the Netherlands.
The role
As an all-round electrical engineer, you will have a direct impact on new and ongoing projects. You will work closely with a small engineering team, contributing ideas and technical expertise from concept to delivery.
Your work will include:
Engineering and development
- Design, assemble, and program custom marine electronic systems
- Integrate sensors, controllers, and other electronic components
- Develop, test, and optimize electronic circuits and PCB layouts
- Work with a portfolio of in-house and international brand equipment
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing systems
- Produce clear and structured technical documentation
Installation and support
- Occasionally visit client sites in the Netherlands
- Install, configure, and commission systems you helped develop
- Provide technical support during and after installation
What we are looking for
We are seeking a hands-on engineer who:
- Enjoys building and improving real systems and equipment
- Has a strong sense of quality, reliability, and responsibility
- Is curious, inventive, and eager to optimize technology
- Can work independently while collaborating effectively in a small team
- Can explain technical solutions clearly to colleagues and clients
Requirements
- Completed MBO-4 or HBO education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience
- Experience with sensors, electronic circuits, and embedded systems
- Programming experience with Arduino or similar platforms
- Affinity for custom-built systems and off-grid solutions
- Good command of English (Dutch is a plus)
- Driving license B
