Senior Legal Counsel

Legal Counsel in the Defence, Safety & Security unit of TNO’s Legal Contracting team. Draft, review and negotiate R&D contracts between TNO and its clients/partners, focusing on technological innovation. Serve as internal legal point of contact for contract‑related enquiries and coordinate legal processes within project teams.

• Draft, review and support negotiation of R&D, service, collaboration and consortium agreements.
• Provide legal advice on legislation, commercial interests and risk management for contracts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (market directors, business developers, research managers) and external partners.
• Coordinate legal activities within project teams to ensure progress.

• Completed master’s degree in Dutch law or bachelor’s degree in Dutch law.
• Minimum 8years of relevant experience in business and/or law.
• Extensive experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex national and international contracts.
• Affinity with R&D, technological innovations and public–private partnerships advantageous.
• Strong business‑mindset, pragmatic, cooperative, focused on risk management and constructive collaboration.
• Trusted advisor to business with ability to develop pragmatic solutions.
• Excellent command of spoken and written Dutch and English.

• Gross monthly salary €6,000–€7,945 (based on knowledge and experience).
