APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, is part of the A.P. Moller‑Maersk Group. We are evolving the COO Function and strengthening operational excellence through our Operational Technology & Analytics (OT&A) team.
Responsibilities- Lead the OT&A scope of activities for high impact, complex terminal investment opportunities, including greenfield investments, brownfield expansions and terminal masterplans.
- Act as the focal point between Global OT&A, our terminals and BIM functions, integrating engagement with cross‑functional stakeholders at local, regional and global levels.
- Champion APM Terminals’ strategic approach to make OT&A a strategic differentiator and competitive advantage in winning bids for new concessions, concession extensions and M&A.
- Structurally anchor OT&A into the BIM framework from the start of the investment initiative idea.
- Contribute to continuously improving the governance framework of OT&A PMD (Portfolio Management & Delivery), applying best practices and lessons learned and providing project updates.
- Collaborate extensively with OT&A Product Leads to ensure all scope and product definitions, enablers, requirements, assumptions, risks, timelines, and CAPEX/OPEX considerations are evaluated, captured and communicated to the project team on time and in full.
- 5–8 years of industry experience with hands‑on knowledge preferably from terminal operations, automation, technology, container shipping, engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical understanding of terminal layouts, operational designs, equipment automation and digital automation systems.
- Solid experience in project management in complex, wide portfolios and matrix organizations; PMP, APM or equivalent certification preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder and change‑management experience in a real‑time environment with exposure to cross‑functional stakeholders across different levels.
- Advanced communication skills in English (written and verbal), additional languages are a plus.
- High discipline – following through actions with constant care and ensuring necessary documentation and information flow with confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize with a focus on delivering results while balancing performance, quality, level of detail and resource availability with a sense of urgency.
- Capability to motivate peers and influence project stakeholders without reporting lines.
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment.
- Affinity and interest in Lean methodologies.
- University degree in Engineering, Business, IT, Logistics or similar.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for terminal on‑site visits and workshops.
- Exposure to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across different levels, including senior management.
- Broad knowledge of OT&A products and services.
- Knowledge and experience in portfolio management, project management, business case development, stakeholder management and change management.
