Legal Director – Netherlands

We are partnering with a high-growth, market-leading international consumer services business to appoint a Legal Director in the Netherlands. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the local Management Team, this role offers the opportunity to shape the legal, compliance, and governance agenda during an exciting period of transformation and growth.

This is a highly visible position for a commercially minded legal leader who enjoys building, improving, and influencing at senior level. You will own the Dutch legal function, acting as a trusted adviser across marketing, sales, operations, HR, compliance, and strategic business initiatives.

• Lead all legal, compliance, regulatory, and governance matters.
• Advise senior leadership on commercial, consumer, privacy, employment, and competition law issues.
• Support marketing and go-to-market activities, ensuring compliance with consumer and advertising regulations.
• Drive compliance and data privacy programmes.
• Negotiate and oversee commercial contracts and strategic partnerships.
• Manage external counsel and legal spend.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on business impact.

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 10+ years’ experience.
• Strong training from a reputable law firm combined with in-house experience.
• Background in a fast-paced B2C, subscription, technology, or consumer-focused business preferred.
• Commercial, pragmatic, and solution-oriented.
• Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at executive level.
