The R&D Academy develops learning solutions, delivers training, and strengthens capability building across R&D. In this role, you will design and develop high-quality learning solutions while helping improve learning quality, ways of working, and scalable content development.

Role and Responsibilities


As a Learning Solution Designer, you turn learning needs into effective concepts and high-quality solutions that support performance in the business. You bring strong instructional design expertise and hands-on experience in learning design and content development. Together with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders, you create practical and engaging learning products that make complex content easier to understand and apply. Working closely with Learning Architects, Learning Business Partners, and fellow designers, you help build learning solutions that are relevant, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

  • Design, develop, and maintain learning solutions that are relevant, scalable, and embedded in the business.

  • Translate learning needs into strong solution concepts using sound didactical design and fit-for-purpose learning methods.

  • Develop learning products and activities in formats that match the target group, business context, and learning objectives.

  • Support Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders with didactical guidance and practical support for content creation and maintenance.

  • Contribute to effective ways of working, with focus on quality, consistency, and scalable content development.

  • Work closely with Learning Business Partners, Learning Architects, and fellow designers to deliver a strong learner experience.

  • Use feedback and insights to continuously improve learning solutions and increase impact.

Education & experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Educational Sciences or similar.

  • Strong didactical background using instructional design frameworks (like ADDIE) with solid examples of designed and developed learning solutions.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in learning design and content development, with the ability to turn complex content into practical and engaging learning solutions.

  • Hands-on experience with digital learning tools and content development, for example Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, video tools, and related technologies.

  • Affinity with structured ways of working, quality in content development, and scalable learning design approaches.

  • Experience working with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders to translate complex content into effective learning experiences.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Analytical, pragmatic, and able to translate complexity into workable learning solutions.

  • Curious about improvement and motivated to strengthen learning quality and business impact.

Context of the position


R&D consists of our Development & Engineering organization (D&E), our Business Lines (Apps, DUV, NXE, EXE and MPS), and Research & Technologies. As R&D Academy, we report into the Performance & Integration Cluster within D&E. We have a solid reporting line in the D&E P&I QBP cluster and a dotted line to the Dean of the ASML Academies. The R&D Academy is part of a network of eight academies across ASML. Together, we support approximately 15,000 colleagues with our services.

The holder of this position reports to the manager learning development in the R&D Academy.
