Do you get energy from opening doors, not just keeping them open? Do you love being on the floor at a busy conference, striking up conversations that turn into deals? Do you want to build a sales motion from the ground up rather than slot into someone else's playbook? Are you motivated by selling software that genuinely matters, like privacy-first tools that organizations actually trust with their data?
At Sendent, we're looking for an Account Executive to own new business. You'll be one of our first dedicated commercial hires, responsible for finding, qualifying, and closing new customers for our Microsoft and Nextcloud integrations. This is a hunting role: the majority of your time goes to building pipeline and winning new logos, with just enough account follow-through to ensure a clean handover and a happy customer. As we grow, you'll help shape how Sendent sells, including the process, the tooling, and the team around you.
A big part of your pipeline will come from the road. We attend most Nextcloud events across Europe and beyond, from Nextcloud Enterprise Days and the Nextcloud Community Conference to industry shows like GITEX Europe, LEAP, and Data Innovation Summit. We expect our AE to be there, working the booth, meeting prospects, and turning conversations into opportunities. These are all-expenses-paid trips, and regular travel is a real and expected part of this role, so you should genuinely get excited at the prospect of representing Sendent at events around the continent.
About Sendent
Sendent is a fast-growing software company focused on privacy-first enterprise collaboration and communication.
Our mission is to empower teams to secure their workflow effortlessly. We do so by building secure, user-friendly integrations between Microsoft tools and Nextcloud, enabling organizations to keep working with familiar software while retaining full control over their data.
We believe in sustainable software, ownership, and trust; both in our products and in how we work together.
You'll join a growing, international team, working closely with experienced engineers and the founders in an environment where quality, autonomy, and learning are valued over speed for speed's sake.
Tasks
New business is the heart of this role. Building our commercial foundation is where you can add extra value as you settle in, and where there's real room to leave your mark.
New business & closing
- Proactively identify and acquire new customers across our target markets
- Connect with key decision-makers (IT leads, security and compliance owners, and management) and build successful business relationships
- Present, promote, and sell Sendent's solutions to meet and exceed sales targets
- Run deals end-to-end: qualification, demo coordination, quoting, negotiation, and close
- Negotiate quotes and contract terms that work for both the customer and Sendent
- Represent Sendent at Nextcloud and industry events across Europe (and occasionally beyond), working the booth, meeting prospects, and generating new business on the floor
Pipeline & commercial foundation
- Keep the pipeline and customer data accurate and up to date in the CRM
- Forecast and track key sales metrics, and communicate progress clearly and transparently
- Work with the founders and (over time) marketing on outreach, lead generation, and go-to-market
- Help shape and document our sales process and tooling as the function grows, turning what works into something repeatable
Requirements
Must-haves
- A track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets, particularly in winning new customers, with proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or new-business account management
- Self-directed and hands-on: you don't wait to be told where the next opportunity is
- Confident communicating, presenting, and influencing at all levels, including IT decision-makers and management
- Excited to travel: you're happy to be on the road regularly for events and prospect meetings across Europe (travel is a required and recurring part of the role)
- Working-level English proficiency (preferably C1/C2), plus at least one other major market language (Dutch, French, German, or Spanish) at the same level
- Technical affinity for software; able to hold a credible conversation about integrations, security, and data control, or a quick study who's willing to learn our market fast
- Comfortable in a fast-growing, dynamic, international team where things move quickly and no two days are the same
- This is a hybrid role based around our Eindhoven office, so you live within roughly one hour's travel of Eindhoven
- Bachelor's or Master's level working and thinking (HBO/WO)
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 / Outlook ecosystem, Nextcloud, or open-source software
- Experience in security-, privacy-, or compliance-sensitive markets
- Experience setting up or improving a sales process and CRM tooling
This role is ideal if you want to build a commercial function through real ownership, not just inherit one.
This role probably isn't for you if:
- You dislike travel and meeting new people
- You think European tech can't win on the global stage
- You always email first instead of picking up the phone
- You refuse to cold call leads
- You have no patience for slower-moving, complex sales cycles (typically between 6 and 12 months)
Benefits
What You'll Get
- €4,050 to €4,850 gross monthly salary (40h/week, depending on experience), with on-target earnings (OTE) of €62,000 to €75,000 per year. Your bonus is paid quarterly, with an accelerator that kicks in once you pass 110% of target, so over-performance pays off
- Hybrid setup, with an in-office day once a week, in an office right across from Eindhoven Central station, with strong autonomy and real ownership
- Self-directed mobility budget, you choose your own mode of transport
- All-expenses-paid travel to Nextcloud and industry events across Europe and beyond
- 25 vacation days + public holidays + 8% holiday pay
- Company laptop of your choice, plus a company phone
- Home-office budget, work-from-home allowance and internet allowance
- A team that values quality, learning, and long-term thinking
