OverviewProject “Enhancing supply chain sustainability: the role of transparency and due diligence” is funded by NWO SSH M and investigates the impact of mandatory transparency and corporate due diligence requirements on supply chain sustainability. The goal is to produce fundamental research on supply chain consequences of due diligence and transparency and develop practical knowledge on the implementation of recent EU regulations such as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
ResponsibilitiesThe main tasks include:
- Analyzing country‑level implementation of the CSDDD across the European Union.
- Studying the reporting and economic effects of due diligence requirements.
- Collecting and analysing data using natural language processing (NLP) techniques to build a comprehensive overview of supply chain disclosures.
- Collaborating with Prof. Edith Leung, Dr. Bjarne Brié (TiSEM) and Dr. Jochen Pierk (ESE).
- Conducting a teaching task consistent with the role of a postdoctoral researcher.
- PhD degree in accounting, finance or related fields, or near completion of a PhD.
- Proven research experience with publications in international journals or conferences.
- Affinity for accounting transparency, sustainability and supply chains.
- Experience analysing textual data using NLP or other machine learning techniques.
- Excellent English academic communication skills (CEFR C2). Dutch language skills are not required.
- Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate within a team.
- Capacity to efficiently explore and adopt new subject matter.
€4728 - €6433 monthly
