The Odensehuis is a drop-in, advice, and meeting centre for people with memory problems and early-stage dementia, as well as their loved ones, friends, and neighbors. It's a place where people can be themselves, connect, and participate to the best of their ability. The Odensehuis supports and encourages people with early-stage dementia to remain active and independent for as long as possible. Participants, volunteers, and professionals work together to organize the day.

As a volunteer, together with participants, interns, other volunteers, and professionals, you ensure the content of the daily program and a pleasant atmosphere.
You take care of practical matters such as coffee, tea and lunch and the organisation and execution of activities. For example a game, something creative such as making a collage, guiding a theme discussion or musical activity.
Your own initiatives that can contribute to a meaningful day are welcome!
Who are we looking for?You want to empathize with the world of experience of people with dementia and their loved ones. You are a good listener and are able to place your own experiences in the background. You leave room for people to take control of themselves and have a supportive attitude and a flexible attitude.
What do we offer?Every day is different and the variety is great. You are given the space to shape the course of the day and the activities together with the team of the day. Experienced volunteers and professionals support you in this. You work in an open and relaxed atmosphere in which there is a lot of laughter.
What makes the work worthwhile?You are in contact with a diversity of people and therefore have special encounters. You contribute to the well-being of the participants who can be themselves and go home with a good feeling at the end of the day.
Working days and times?On Mondays we are preferably looking for a volunteer for the entire day or 2 volunteers who are each willing to take care of part of the day.
We are looking for a volunteer for Friday morning.
(morning part of the day is from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM and afternoon part of the day is from 1:00 PM to 4:45 PM)
