Role OverviewWe are seeking a General Manager to lead our global X‑Ray Elemental & Structural Solutions product line. This senior leadership role reports to the President and is fully accountable for product strategy, portfolio evolution, and business performance.
What you will do- Define and deliver the end‑to‑end product line strategy, aligned to company priorities.
- Lead product management and R&D, shaping a balanced portfolio of platforms, next‑generation products, and lifecycle investments.
- Build a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics and translate insights into clear product strategies and innovation priorities.
- Own the product portfolio from concept through to end‑of‑life, ensuring the right investment choices across short‑ and long‑term horizons.
- Lead pricing, value proposition, and market positioning in close partnership with commercial teams.
- Drive disciplined portfolio and investment management, ensuring strong returns on R&D spend and clear prioritisation.
- Partner cross‑functionally to ensure effective execution and delivery while maintaining focus on product strategy and customer value creation.
- Own the product line P&L, including growth, profitability, and long‑term value creation.
- Within 12–18 months, a clear, customer‑backed strategy and roadmap aligned across product management and R&D is established.
- Portfolio focus and transparency are achieved, with explicit prioritisation and trade‑offs.
- Product management discipline is strengthened, with a sharper voice of customer and clearer value propositions.
- Measurable improvements in time‑to‑market and portfolio execution are delivered.
- A strong, aligned operating rhythm between product management, R&D, and commercial teams is built.
- Visibility and outcomes from portfolio investments and R&D spend are improved.
- The individual becomes a recognized enterprise leader known for clarity, focus, and delivery.
- Proven general manager, product leader, or senior business leader from analytical instrumentation, diagnostics, or life sciences.
- Deep experience in product management and portfolio leadership within R&D organisations.
- Track record of translating customer and market insight into successful product strategies.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with ownership of P&L and investment decisions.
- Experience leading global, multi‑site teams in a matrixed environment.
- Advanced degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, or related discipline (MBA valued).
