The Public Affairs and Market Access Officer will play a critical role in shaping the vaccine landscape for the company’s portfolio of products and capabilities, by building strong relationships with governmental agencies, public health organizations and similar key stakeholders in European countries and UN agencies.
Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze European and UN-affiliated immunization policies, regulations, and funding mechanisms, including relevant legislation that impacts the company and the healthcare industry.
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to influence policy decisions related to vaccine adoption and reimbursement.
- Support the preparation of marketing and communication activities, delivering compelling presentations and policy briefs to government officials, policymakers, and public health organizations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, public health agencies, industry networks, advisory committees, and professional associations.
- Educate HCPs, NITAGs, customers, and end users on the company’s products and services, including clinical data, safety information, and reimbursement options.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, market access, business development, regulatory affairs) to ensure alignment and consistency in advocacy efforts.
- Contribute to marketing strategies that highlight the value and capabilities of the company’s product pipeline.
- Assist in the development of marketing and communication material, including web, social media, events, and print media, to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.
- Represent the company at relevant conferences, workshops, and meetings, preparing and delivering presentations as appropriate.
- Identify and contribute to commercial opportunities to optimize the inclusion of the company’s vaccines within immunization schedules.
- Provide government affairs insights to assist the commercial team and partner networks in pricing and reimbursement strategies.
- Assist in developing value propositions and health economic analyses to support vaccine adoption.
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, political science, life sciences, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years, up to 10 years of proven experience in the vaccines or pharmaceutical European industry with a strong track record in public policy or market access, preferably focusing on vaccines.
- Strong understanding of European health‑care systems, immunization policies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record of successful advocacy and stakeholder engagement in a European context; highly preferred for vaccines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze complex policy issues and develop effective advocacy strategies.
- Fluency in English and at least one other major European language.
- Ability and willingness to travel in Europe.
- Knowledge of vaccine development, manufacturing, and commercialization.
- Experience working with UN‑led agencies and collaborators, including end users and affiliated networks.
- Established network of contacts within European government and public health organizations.
- Experience with CRM and other sales‑related software.
- Ability to travel up to 30%, depending on assignments and frequency.
- Strong ethical principles and commitment to public health.
