As a Community and Senior Center, “De Hofstede” offers a community and activity center for the elderly and residents of Velserbroek, building on the current activity program and adopting a new, coherent and appealing offering for and by the elderly since January 1, 2024. The center aims to support the elderly in maintaining control and living independently for as long as possible, while promoting social cohesion and strengthening cooperation between informal and formal care and welfare under the motto: ‘Care for each other and care with each other’.
The Wijk en Senioren Centrum De Hofstede is connected to 151 senior homes of Velison Wonen. The residents of these homes, as well as users from the surrounding neighborhoods and the coordinators/volunteers of the activities, use De Hofstede. About 780 people visit the center each week, supported during activities and served by approximately 70 volunteers.
Responsibilities- Join the board of the foundation and contribute to its governance.
- Participate in the secretariat and support the board’s processes.
- Leverage financial expertise to fill two vacancies on the board.
- Volunteer dedication and availability.
- Financial background or experience in financial management.
- Commitment to the mission of supporting the elderly and community engagement.
