Job Purpose – Lead and grow a talented team of digital designers, shaping high‑quality experiences for international clients while collaborating with cross‑functional DEPT teams across Europe. As a people‑first leader, you will mentor talent, set design standards, and help establish the Croatian design team’s reputation.
Responsibilities- Drive creativity and deliver excellence: Lead design quality on key accounts, ensuring projects are visually appealing, strategically sound, delivered on time and within budget.
- Empower people: Manage, mentor, and coach a team of visual designers from junior to senior levels through regular 1‑on‑1s and growth opportunities.
- Strategic collaboration: Work closely with the UX Design Team Lead and other leaders to refine capabilities and processes.
- Proven track record: An impressive portfolio demonstrating sophisticated experience design and deep understanding of digital platforms, ideally from a fast‑paced agency environment.
- Leadership skills: Ability to give constructive feedback and foster growth; prior team‑lead experience is a plus.
- Design system expertise: Experienced building and maintaining scalable Design Systems that balance aesthetics and functionality.
- Accessibility mindset: Treat WCAG standards as foundational design principles, integrating inclusivity with aesthetics.
- Collaborative spirit: Work effectively with UX Designers, Copywriters, and Developers to unite ideas.
- Modern toolstack: Mastery of Figma; experience with Framer or Jitter is a plus.
- Industry pulse: Curiosity about digital trends, AI, new technologies, and design trends, and willingness to apply relevant innovations.
- Communication skills: Fluent in English, capable of explaining design concepts to executive‑level clients and engineering teams.
- Plus factor: Experience in Brand Design is advantageous.
