The Central Netherlands Council for Refugees is looking for volunteers (m / f) who want to offer support to refugees in Naarden and Bussum.
You work from our office located in Naarden.
Working hours: Min. 1 day a week (Tuesday to Thursday), strongly preferred Tuesday!
Tasks:
- Applying for various provisions (benefits, allowances, etc.)
- Provide an explanation of procedures and authorities and mediate in the contact
- Help fill in forms (paper and digital)
- Building a relationship of trust, offering a listening ear and referring if necessary
- Guidance towards self-reliance
- File structure, reporting and tracking progress in the client tracking system
We ask:
- Affinity with the target audience
- An accurate work style
- Good communication and (digital) administrative skills
- Being able to work well in a team
- Deployment of at least 4 hours per week on Monday, Tuesday and / or Thursday during office hours
- The intention to commit to the Council for Refugees for a longer period of time, preferably for a period of 12 months (or longer)
Protecting the interests of refugees and asylum seekers from Gooise Meren (cores: Naarden and Bussum)
Activities
- Receive newly arrived clients, familiarize them and guide them to authorities
- Assisting in filling in forms (on paper and digitally) and arranging practical matters
- Build a bond of trust, offer a listening ear and, if necessary, refer them
- Guidance to self-reliance
- Reporting of agreements made and keeping track of progress in the (digital) client tracking system
