Senior Commercial Manager

The Senior Commercial Manager works accountably alongside the Design & Delivery, and Commercial functions, to support whole-life data center construction projects and their commercial management lifecycle, as well as partnering with our contractors and suppliers to achieve appropriate and responsible outcomes.

The role is integral in ensuring that Pure consistently sets up projects for success through having the auditable rigor in place to assure the tender, contract, and ongoing cost management of each project.

The role is accountable for the ongoing review of the suitability of this lifecycle and its ability to protect the best interests of Pure, our customers and contractors. Ensuring that our tender processes and accompanying documentation are consistently robust, that project time and costs risks are proactively foreseen and best mitigated, and that our cost exposure throughout the lifecycle is managed effectively to the successful completion of the project to budget.

THIS ROLE IS SITE BASED IN AMSTERDAM AND REQUIRES 3 - 4 DAYS ON SITE AND TO BE LOCALLY BASED, WITH THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE NETHERLANDS.

• The production, and ongoing maintenance, of informed and detailed budget/other financial estimates for all data center construction projects, ensure that these are best placed to inform our financial forecast modelling and its sustained accuracy.
• Maintaining ongoing reconciliation of cost projections against the design brief. Ensuring that potential variances (outside any agreed tolerances) are identified, and raised in advance with appropriate internal stakeholder
• Ensuring the auditable transparency, and rigor of the supplier tender and procurement process, including:
• Maintaining the accuracy and timely distribution and collection of tender documentation
• Maintaining the ongoing relevance of Pure’s internal policy and best practice
• Ensuring the completeness of tender outcome reporting and due diligence in accordance with Pure’s best practice procurement framework.
• Monitoring and advising on the adequacy of design information produced for tender, ensuring so as best assure the accuracy of our.
• Assisting in the preparation of pricing documents for all elements of work where sufficient design information is available together with schedules of provisional and prime cost sums.
• Reconciling project cost plans on selection of the contractor.
• Undertaking regular fully evaluated cost checks and advising where the developing design is likely to exceed elemental allowances and achieving value for money.
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
• Attending project progress meetings.
• Ongoing review and maintenance of all post-contract cost variation and change control processes, using this knowledge to ensure the sustained and timely accuracy of our budget modelling and forecast reporting.
• Ongoing maintenance of our contractual document suite, ensuring that that this is appropriately standardized and version controlled, and that it appropriately and responsibly protects Pure’s best interests, and our cost and revenue control assurance.
• Adjudicating and resolving financial claims by the contractor(s) in order that timely cashflow is maintained and payment recommendations can be forecasted.
