About the roleReckitt is looking for a Senior Buyer for upstream and sustainability management of Paper & Pulp based Packaging materials reporting to Procurement Manager. Based in Amsterdam, this role will be responsible for the procurement of commodities like Solid Box Board, Corrugated Paper, Viscose & other paper and pulp-based products and drive sustainability initiatives in this category.
Your responsibilities- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for commodities under scope
- Monitor market conditions, offering procurement insights based on commodity trends and prices
- Prepare monthly forecasts and report incorporating market insights and trend
- Negotiate contracts and terms of agreement with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms
- Engage in supplier selection, focusing on optimal service, cost, and quality
- Coordinate and facilitate communication between internal & external stakeholders to drive various upstream paper projects
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with the procurement Operating Model and SOP
- Bachelor/master’s degree in business, science/engineering, supply chain or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Procurement
- Experience with upstream projects or within paper or plastic packaging solutions
- Good English communication skills oral and written, second language is a plus
- Excellence in negotiation, coupled with sharp analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- A proactive nature, adept at balancing multiple tasks with meticulous attention to detail
- Effective communicator with solid interpersonal skills for both internal teams and external partners
- Proficient with procurement systems and the MS Office Suite, enabling swift management of procurement activities
