Bunge operates in more than 40 countries, connecting farmers, processors and consumers worldwide. At our Rotterdam Blaak location, we manage complex physical supply chains that include crude oil and refined products closely connected to production facilities.
To strengthen our Supply Chain Operations team, we are looking for an Operations Officer – Crude & Refined Products. In this role, you will play a central part in the operational execution, contract settlement and logistical coordination within a highly dynamic, production‑driven environment.
You act as a key interface between production, planning, logistics and commercial teams, ensuring that daily operations align with contractual commitments and customer demand.
Your Impact Operational Execution & Analysis- Monitor and analyse production and operational data to ensure alignment with forecasts and contractual expectations.
- Use internal systems (ERP) to support accurate execution, reporting and data quality.
- Identify deviations and take ownership of follow‑up actions to safeguard operational performance.
- Execute and adjust short‑term and weekly operational plans in line with production output and customer requirements.
- Adjust logistics capacity in response to changing operational conditions.
- Coordinate domestic transportation (barge, rail, road) and liaise with logistics service providers.
- Respond effectively to ad‑hoc changes in a fast‑moving operational environment.
- Support contract settlement activities, including accruals and invoice verification.
- Manage operational deviations and associated cost implications, discussing these with relevant stakeholders when needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate administrative processing to support correct financial settlement.
- Act as a true spin in the web between commercial, production, planning and logistics teams.
- Proactively align and chase stakeholders when plans or priorities change.
- Participate in and contribute to operational meetings and decision‑making.
- Identify improvement opportunities and actively contribute to Supply Chain process enhancements.
- Support post‑merger software developments and system integration.
- HBO (Bachelor) degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field, or MBO level education combined with substantial experience in a highly comparable operational environment.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant operational experience; relevant internships alone are not sufficient.
- Experience with road transportation is a strong plus.
- Experience in a production‑driven or commodity‑ and logistics‑oriented environment is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Proactive, communicative and confident in stakeholder interaction.
- Hands‑on, solution‑oriented and able to balance structure with flexibility.
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is required.
- German is preferred.
- French is an additional plus.
- Experience with SAP is a plus; exposure to SAP GTM is considered an advantage.
